The American Red Cross Ready Rating^TM program is a free, self-paced, membership program designed to help businesses, organizations and schools become better prepared for emergencies. It is aligned with the federal government’s private sector preparedness standards (PS-Prep) and is delivered through a Red Cross branded website, ReadyRating.org. Members use a proprietary online assessment tool to get a baseline measurement of their preparedness level and receive a customized score card with tips and guidance to improve.

Topics covered include conducting a hazard vulnerability assessment, developing an emergency response plan, and helping employees become better prepared. The program content has been evaluated by the Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council.

Are you a Red Cross Instructor? Have you updated your certifications?

CPR/AED for Lifeguards Instructor Upgrades
Instructor Upgrades for CPR/AED for Lifeguards is now available and must be completed by August 31, 2012 to remain an Instructor and continue teaching classes.  If you do not complete an Online Upgrade by the due date, you will expire as an Instructor and have to take a re-entry course.

CPR/AED for Lay Responder and Professional Rescuer Instructor Upgrades
Additionally, if you are a Lay Responder or Professional Rescuer Instructor, all certifications need be updated to the new science by March 31, 2012. Please check www.instructorscorner.org for instructions on how to update your certifications.
